(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc  summary/title:–Postdoctoral fellow in the Research Group of Gabriel Demo

A postdoctoral opportunity is available within the Gabriel Demo Research Group, specializing in the exploration of translation regulation mechanisms. The group’s research is centred on diverse translation regulation pathways in both bacterial and mammalian cells. This project will focus on the structural intricacies of frameshifting and translocation events in bacterial ribosomes, particularly focusing on tRNAs with additional stem-loops. The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art instruments such as Titan Krios and Talos Arctica for cryo-electron microscopy data collection, available either in-house or through local core facilities, with regular accessibility.

We are seeking a creative, independent and driven individual with documented research experience related to this position. Candidates with solid research experience in structural biology and translation are encouraged to apply.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc  summary/title:– Postdoctoral Researcher / Junior Scientist

Applications are invited for a 3-5 year junior research position in the research group of Prof. Štěpánka Vaňáčová, Ph.D. to join the RNA4T project – RNA for Therapy, reg. number CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004575, ” in Programme Johannes Amos Comenius (Czech Republic – The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, co-funded by the European Union.

We are an international team studying the mechanisms of posttranscriptional RNA processing and modifications (PTM) in cellular homeostasis. You will join our efforts to uncover the role of PTMs in cellular division, transformation and in developing new RNA-based tools. Specific focus will be on T-lymphocyte biology and selected tumors. RNA4T is a collaborative project with the Weizmann Institute, Israel; the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, EU; the University of Edinburgh, UK, and other relevant partners.

The researcher will have the opportunity to use a wide range of techniques (CRISPR-based genome editing and/or RNA targeting, high-throughput screens, protein-protein and nucleic acid-protein interaction methods, small compound screens, ribosome profiling, structural analyses, etc., and have access to state-of-the-art core facilities located on the campus (genomic, transcriptomics, bioinformatics, imaging, live-cell imaging, biophysical interactions, CryoEM facility, etc.).

(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc  summary/title:– Researcher-junior: Postdoc in Psychology / Communication Studies / Media Studies

IRTIS (Interdisciplinary Research Team on internet and Society) is a research team that examines the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) and their impact on individuals and groups. We are a well-established team based at Masaryk University with a strong emphasis on international and interdisciplinary collaboration (https://irtis.muni.cz).

We are currently looking for a new colleague for the “DigiWELL – Excellence in Research on Digital Technologies and Wellbeing” project (project duration: 2024–2028). Within the project, we are responsible for the work package focused on short – and long-term impacts of the use of digital technologies on the wellbeing (social, psychological and physical) of the general population. Our primary target populations are adolescents (12-17 years) and adults (18-59 years). We will also analyse existing data (mainly from the project FUTURE – https://irtis.muni.cz/research/projects/future) as well as prepare and implement new studies (longitudinal design, ecological momentary assessment studies, experimental studies).
