(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc  summary/title:  POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER ON REAL-WORLD EVIDENCE OF THE HEALTH EFFECTS OF THERAPEUTICS

About the position: The postdoctoral researcher will conduct mentored research in pharmacoepidemiology, focusing primarily, but not exclusively, on characterizing the health effects of potential drug-drug interactions. The postdoc will be encouraged to articulate research questions of clinical, population health, and mechanistic importance, design research projects, develop detailed analytic plans, perform analyses, interpret results, effectively communicate results orally and in writing, submit results for publication, and disseminate findings to maximize their impact. The postdoc will be encouraged to work outside of their comfort zone, take on projects that do not have a clear path to completion, and propose solutions to problems encountered. (03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc  summary/title: Postdoctoral researcher (social science / human factors engineering)

The goals of the 5-year (2020-2024) multicenter research study are to:

1) Ascertain determinants of operating room (OR) to intensive care unit (ICU) handoff protocol adoption and use in 12 adult and pediatric ICUs in five health systems,
2) Adapt OR to ICU handoff protocols using engineering approaches and select tailored implementation strategies,
3) Test the effectiveness of tailored, multifaceted, multilevel implementation strategies, and
4) Design and create a digital toolkit for other ICUs to identify implementation determinants, customize an OR-to-ICU handoff protocol, and select appropriate implementation strategies.

(07) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc  summary/title: Postdoctoral Researcher

We are a multi-disciplinary and collaborative research group seeking highly-motivated investigators to join our program studying rare genetic human diseases of extra-skeletal (heterotopic) bone formation. Inactivating mutations in the human GNAS gene cause POH; heterotopic bone in POH initiates within subcutaneous adipose tissue and is preceded by depletion of the adipose tissue and lipid content. Activating mutations in ACVR1, a BMP type I receptor, cause FOP; in skeletal muscle heterotopic ossification is preceded by an altered immune response and changes in the tissue microenvironment. Opportunities are available to conduct research investigating stem cells in muscle and adipose tissues, tissue regeneration and repair, genetic and epigenetic regulation, chromatin organization, biomechanical signaling, transcriptional regulation, and/or cell/tissue energy metabolism.

About The University of Pennsylvania, United States – Official Website

The University of Pennsylvania is a private Ivy League research university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The university claims a founding date of 1740 and is one of the nine colonial colleges chartered prior to the U.S. Declaration of Independence. Benjamin Franklin, Penn’s founder and first president, advocated an educational program that trained leaders in commerce, government, and public service, similar to a modern liberal arts curriculum with a practical perspective.

Penn has four undergraduate schools as well as twelve graduate and professional schools. Schools enrolling undergraduates include the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, the Wharton School, and the School of Nursing. Penn’s “One University Policy” allows students to enroll in classes in any of Penn’s twelve schools. Among its highly ranked graduate and professional schools are a law school whose first professor wrote the first draft of the United States Constitution, the first school of medicine in North America (Perelman School of Medicine, 1765), and the first collegiate business school (Wharton School, 1881).
