The postdoctoral researcher will support an ongoing research project on social engagement and cognitive outcomes in later life. The candidate will work directly with Dr. Sae Hwang Han and will have the opportunity to co-author publications. Position will be funded for one year with potential for renewal.

This postdoctoral fellow position will perform research within the Center for Generative Artificial Intelligence and its parent organization, the Machine Learning Laboratory. Successful candidates will be appointed within the Department of Computer Science, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, or the College of Information contingent upon their immediate faculty supervisor. Applicants will be reviewed and accepted on an ongoing basis. In addition to competitive salary and benefits, the fellowship also includes funding for independent travel to workshops, conferences and other universities and research labs.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled hydroclimate postdoctoral fellow to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in atmospheric science, hydroclimate change, data analysis, and numerical modeling. The candidate will be based at UT Austin and be affiliated in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences. The researcher will get an opportunity to actively collaborate with the Texas Water Development Board. Austin is a highly vibrant city and provides access to numerous activities beyond the research and academic experience through UT Austin. Under the supervision of Dr. Zong-Liang Yang, this research will develop a methodology to derive future projected runoff and reservoir evaporation for a select river basin in Texas.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a postdoctoral fellow position (term subject to performance and research program needs/funding) to assist with a new research program largely focused on mapping disadvantaged communities (colonias) in Texas. A key focus of the research program is to use remote sensing and machine learning techniques to map and characterize the evolution of colonias through time. Essential for this position is the ability to a) implement remote sensing techniques to map the evolution of colonias through time, b) consider social and environmental stressors (including floods) on resident populations, and c) coordinate with academic and government collaborators from a wide array of backgrounds. This individual would also be an active member of the research team, participating in scientific activities (presentations, proposals, meetings) as needed.

The Energy Aware Computing (EnyAC) group is seeking a full-time (40 hours) Research Associate to work on a project related to hardware-aware machine learning and machine learning-hardware co-design, focusing on efficient deep learning and associated machine learning and systems approaches. The EnyAC research group develops tools and methods for energy and resource aware computing encompassing the entire system stack, from algorithms and applications to system and hardware architecture. Since its inception in 2000, the EnyAC research group has worked on novel computing paradigms and tools for energy, variability and reliability aware computing, all aiming for sustainable computing and computing for sustainability. Currently, the focus of EnyAC research group is on energy aware machine learning, hardware-machine learning model co-design, and hardware efficient data intensive applications

Dr. Lee A. Fuiman and Dr. Hans A. Hofmann are seeking a postdoctoral fellow for a research project funded by the Texas Gulf Coast Research Center that is investigating the development of malpigmentation in Southern Flounder. The research project investigates malpigmentation by (1) conducting experiments to test the effects of specific hatchery practices on the incidence of malpigmentation and, by applying state-of-the-art molecular tools to samples obtained from those experiments, (2) to investigate the physiological and developmental pathways that are responsible for malpigmentation. Both bulk 3’ tag-based RNA-Seq and single nucleus transcriptomics are being employed, with particular attention to the role of the developing brain and possible dysregulation of homeostatic processes resulting in malpigmentation

Ideally, the postdoctoral fellow will work in Dr. Hofmann’s lab in Austin or in Dr. Fuiman’s lab in Port Aransas, but remote working arrangements will be considered. The position is available immediately and is scheduled to end August 31, 2025, although an extension might be possible.

The person in this position will be responsible for performing research combines brain slice electrophysiology and circuit-based approaches with behavioral testing and pharmacology.
