The Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition at the University of Illinois at Chicago seeks a full-time post-doctoral fellow for randomized controlled trials on exercise training and physical activity in persons with multiple sclerosis. This position is offered under the supervision of Prof. Robert Motl. The post-doctoral fellow will be trained in behavior change interventions, exercise training for multiple sclerosis, and telehealth.

A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Kaori Yamada in the Department of Pharmacology & Regenerative Medicine in the College of Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

The Yamada laboratory studies the mechanisms of the trafficking of signaling molecules, such as the receptor for the growth factor, which regulates angiogenesis and vascular leakage. The regulation of receptor trafficking is a novel concept for angiogenesis-related and vascular-leakage-related diseases such as cancer growth, cancer metastasis, and eye diseases (diabetic retinopathy and wet AMD). Using mouse models, cell biology, and molecular biology techniques, we are defining the mechanisms of pathological angiogenesis and vascular leakage in these diseases.

A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. JP Jin in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Research in the lab focuses on protein structure-function relationships and protein and peptide engineering for biomedical applications. A broad range of experiments and methodology are applied. The University of Illinois Chicago’s Center for Dissemination and Implementation Science is seeking facilitators for the IMARA for Black Male Caregivers and Girls Empowerment (IMAGE) study. A major component of our study is engaging Black families and communities in research using culturally sensitive methods. IMAGE aims to study the implementation and delivery of the IMAGE intervention and enhance community-based organizations’ capacity to provide prevention programming for Black girls (aged 13-18 years) and their male caregivers (18+). The Department of Pharmacology and Regenerative Medicine(https://mcph.uic.edu/), at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate to assist NIH-funded program research operated by the Dr. Yoshikazu Tsukasaki. Under direction and supervision, the research associate will engage in research activities that utilize knowledge of lung intravital imaging to investigate the mechanisms of neutrophil migration in lung tissue, the role of macrophages in tissue repair, and the mechanisms of endothelial cell activation in lung specific niches. Two postdoctoral research associate positions are available in the Multiscale Materials and Manufacturing Laboratory (M3L) at University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). This is a joint position between UIC and Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) seeking fresh PhDs with expertise in computational materials modeling informed machine learning approach development for high-performance computing (HPC) environment. A Ph.D. in appropriate engineering or physical science discipline closely related to this area of research is required. HPC resources at the UIC and ANL will be utilized for massively parallel simulations and training of generative AI models. Physics-informed machine learning approach will be used to predict material evolution under thermomechanical, electro-thermal, and electrochemical conditions. The position will be annually renewable depending on performance with a strong chance for growth, high-impact publications, and opportunities to interact with academia and national labs.

This Postdoctoral Research Associate conducts research in the area of machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), and rural medicine. This innovative role will combine the expertise from the nationally and internationally recognized Rural Medical Education Program (RMED), housed in the NRHP, at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford with a mentor and support from CHEMA. 

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also be affiliated CHEMA and expected to participate in monthly seminars with other postdoctoral research associates in the UIC College of Medicine.
