We are seeking an outstanding candidate for a position as postdoctoral researcher in organofluorine chemistry. Our group focuses on the development of methods to chart unknown chemical space through two strategies: (I) unlocking unknown reactivity modes of known small molecules or (II) developing new reagents for the preparation of unknown compounds.

We are looking for a research team member with an outstanding PhD thesis in the field of English historical linguistics (Old and/or Middle English) and high motivation for research activities associated with the WAW-ME project. The successful candidate will have a publication record in historical semantics and lexicology, previous background in historical corpus linguistics and database compilation, as well as familiarity with historical dictionaries and such methodological approaches as frame semantics and variationist linguistics. Postdoc summary/title:– PostDoc in Neuropsychiatry and Biomarkers
Our research focuses on the early stages of cognitive decline, delirium and persisting neuropsychiatric syndromes in late adulthood and old age. Our main goals are to 1) better understand the pathophysiological mechanisms associated with neurocognitive and neuropsychiatric disorders, and their relevance for the clinical manifestations and the course of disease, 2) identify and validate biomarkers for prediction, early detection and differential diagnosis of cognitive impairment and related neuropsychiatric symptoms and 3) identify risk factors and protective factors of cerebral aging to assess risk and develop approaches for prevention and treatment.
The current projects focus on the integration of multi-omics data with clinical data from an existing cohort as well as a multi-centric cohort with ongoing recruitment and follow-up. The project includes several collaborations with local and international groups and labs.

The position is available for candidates interested in these topics, who have a Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI, NLP, or a related discipline (or will be receiving it shortly) as well as a passion for discovering new things. Postdoc summary/title:–Postdoc in neuroscience of reward learning
The successful candidate will work with Prof. Todd Hare and other SNS Lab researchers on the neuro-computational basis of human learning and decision making using cutting-edge multimodal neuroimaging techniques. For example, the successful candidate will work on a project aimed to determine if reward learning and corresponding striatal responses incorporate causal knowledge during Pavlovian conditioning. Using theoretically grounded and empirically verified reward learning predictions – blocking, conditioned inhibition, and overexpectation – we will test how Pavlovian conditioning operates over stimuli that are known to be either causal generators or correlated predicters of reward outcomes. Knowledge of the causal mechanisms should, in principle, determine how a reward learning agent summates predictions over two or more conditioned stimuli and whether a specific conditioned inhibitor will block a given causal state. We will test these hypotheses using modified versions of the standard conditioned inhibition and overexpectation paradigms together with functional neuroimaging. The results of these studies will provide important new insights into the fundamental nature of reward learning. They will reveal if Pavlovian conditioning mechanisms, which are generally thought to be model-free, incorporate model-based knowledge of cause-and-effect relationships in the environment or if instead they remain agnostic about causality and operate via predictiveness alone.

Candidates should hold (or expect) a good PhD degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., psychology, physiology, neuroscience, economics, cognitive science, biology) and have published work using psychophysics and/or computational modeling of behavior. Postdoc summary/title:– Postdoc in Quantitative Methods for Psychology
The position is located within the Department of Psychology at the University of Zurich and offers an outstanding work and research environment. The workgroup for Quantitative Methods of Intervention and Evaluation is active and internationally connected in quantitative methods and psychometrics. The workgroup’s focus is to develop and apply new statistical methods and software for (intensive) longitudinal and multilevel data, extending and linking classical statistical approaches used in psychology (e.g. SEM, regression) with newer approaches such as Bayesian methods, stochastic differential equations (continuous time), and machine learning.
We are looking for a Post Doc who will co-lead the management and day to day running of a large-scale international research project. The project will explore the longitudinal trajectory of prolonged grief symptoms using fine grained experience sampling methods. You will be responsible for assisting with project planning, recruiting participants, complex statsitical data analysis and the write up of peer reviewed manuscripts. Experience and interest in working with mobile apps and experience sampling methodology necessary.
