Working within the renowned Energy and Bioproducts Research Institute at Aston University you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills to assessment of the sustainability of biofuel supply chains as part of an industrial project to reduce industrial carbon emissions.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced researcher to conduct a sustainability assessment of biofuel use to reduce carbon emissions in the glass sector. You will work within the internationally excellent Energy and Bioproducts Research Institute at Aston University and conduct your assessment as part of the Supergen Bioenergy Hub programme.

Supported by a full-time research associate and experienced supervisors, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with industrial partners to inform their decision-making on this important project focused on reducing carbon emissions and maximizing sustainability in the industrial sector. You will have a first degree in science, engineering, or a related subject, a relevant PhD, and significant experience in sustainability and/or life-cycle assessment, consistent with independent research capabilities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Department of Economics, Finance, and Entrepreneurship at Aston Business School as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. 

You will collate, manage, and examine data to create and contribute knowledge at the intersection of economics and geography on the relationship between cities, urban economies, and gambling harms under the supervision of Dr Tasos Kitsos. This initiative aims to redesign CoolRun Pods for the African market, focusing on transporting fruits, vegetables, and frozen meat/fish.

This exciting opportunity involves planning, coordinating, and monitoring project activities, preparing project documentation, and ensuring strict adherence to timelines and milestones. The successful candidate will develop simulation models and tools for the design and performance prediction of cascade heat pumps under various conditions. Additionally, they will conduct end-user surveys to inform preliminary designs, integrate CO₂ and R1234yf heat pumps into a cohesive system, and optimize the design for enhanced efficiency and performance.
